Give Kids a Smile Day - Feb. 26

We're ready to give back again for Give Kids a Smile Day, coming up Wed., Feb. 26 at the Erie County Healthy Department for those kids in need.

It's the 17th Annual Give Kids a Smile Program of the Ohio Dental Association on Wed., Feb. 26 from 1 PM to 7 PM. Free exams, cleanings and x-rays and other dental services will be offered at the Erie County Health Department at 420 Superior St., Sandusky, Ohio for children in need. Dr. Stefano will be volunteering alongside the Erie County, Ohio health department dentists. For more information, contact the Erie Co. Health Dept. at 419-626-5623, ext 218, or go to www.stefanodental.com.

Children, ages 1 to 18, in need of dental care, will be seen on a first-come, first-serve basis. The volunteer services are offered to children whose families meet the following criteria: they have no private dental insurance, nor the means to afford dental care; are living on a limited income; are experiencing financial difficulty (could be due to divorce, illness, death, loss of job, etc.); child is in apparent need of dental examination and may need care; and the child is not a current patient at another dental office.

ABOUT GIVE KIDS a SMILE (GKAS) PROGRAM of the Ohio Dental Association:   The 15th annual Give Kids a Smile program of the Ohio Dental Association brings local dentists and other volunteers in Ohio together to educate, examine and/or treat children who do not have access to dental care.  Many children getting the free dental care have never been to a dentist before. GKAS Day was started by the American Dental Association in 2003 and has grown to “more than just a day” in many areas of Ohio.
