October; Pink Reminders

You don't have to look far to be reminded that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The pink ribbons, pink t-shirts, pink races---all remind us of the importance of breast cancer research.

It not only reminds us of supporting breast cancer awareness, but we're reminded of all the breast cancer survivors and those who passed away too from breast cancer.

We remember everyone who's been affected by breast cancer. The survivors. And also the friends, family and caregivers of those who are suffering from or have had breast cancer.

There are many small ways for a company to 'go pink.' Pick a day, like a Friday, and have your staff where pink. Join a breast cancer awareness race, or volunteer your time with the many breast cancer awareness organization.

And don't forget to get your annual mammogram if you're older than 40. Prevention goes a long way. And monthly self-checks, are equally important.

If you're younger than 40, get in the habit of doing self breast examinations now. The more you're aware, the more you'll be able to know when something seems abnormal.

Breast cancer research has made great strides in the past decade, but we still have a ways to go.

Remind your wife, friend, mother, sister, partner, daughter to get a check-up and encourage them to be aware of their own bodies.

Together, we make a difference.
