Dr. Lata Stefano of Stefano Dental in Sandusky, Ohio received the 2019 Distinguished Alumni Award by The Ohio State University (OSU) College of Dentistry, selected from more than 20 nominees throughout the United States for her tremendous community work, and inspiration to others. This is the 50th year that the OSU College of Dentistry’s board of directors has nominated and selected alumni for awards based on the alumnus’ career achievements, service to community and national/international distinction. The Distinguished Alumni Award candidates must show participation, service and leadership in the advancement of dentistry at a local, state or national level; show participation in public service at the local, state and national levels; must be of good moral character; and have made outstanding contributions to one of the following: art, science, literature, organized dentistry or public service.
“This award was truly a surprise, from the nomination to the award, I’m so deeply humbled and grateful to be joined by family and colleagues in accepting the honor,” said Lata Stefano, DDS, owner of Stefano Dental of Sandusky, Ohio. “It’s so rewarding to know that something as simple as giving can be so inspiring to others,” said Dr. Stefano.
