Victims fleeing domestic abuse many times leave their homes very quickly without packing! All they take with them are their children and the clothes on their backs. A great way to assist would be to donate. Let's all come together as a community and help out. Now through June 30th, we're a drop off location for items to be donated to The Safe Harbour Domestic Violence Shelter. We will collecting new items listed below to help those women and children in crisis get the things they need. Please bring in unopened and unused toiletries for women and children. Here's a suggested shopping list:
Women's socks and underwear
Hand soap and body soap
Deoderant
Full-size shampoo and conditioner
Hairbrushes and hair accessories
Children's underwear and pajamas
Toilet paper, Kleenex, Paper towels
Cleaning supplies, dish soap
Garbage bags
Laundry detergent
Laundry baskets
Bath towel sets
Foil/Plastic wrap
Plastic Ziploc bags
We also love to donate superstore gift cards. For those shelter residents seeking employment, gift cards can help them get professional work attire or put gas in their car to get to their job interviews. Gift cards also help those ready to leave the shelter to help them set up a new home and independent life.
