Each school year, over 2,800 children in Erie County will lack the supplies needed to enter the classroom ready to learn. United Way of Erie County, The Volunteer Center, Stefano Dental and other local businesses are partnering together for our community. Our goal is to provide full backpacks to low-income children entering grades K-5 for the upcoming 2016/2017 school year.
School Supplies List for Grades K-5
- Backpacks (drawstrings acceptable, no wheels)
- Crayola Crayons (16-24 count)
- Crayola Watercolor Markers (basic 8)
- Ruler (with standard & metric systems)
- Glue Sticks
- Bottled Glue
- Folders (2 pocket, solid colors)
- Wide-Ruled Paper
- Fiskars Scissors
- Pink Erasers
- Pencil Boxes
Tax deductible monetary donations will also be accepted for backpacks and school supplies. Please make checks payable to United Way of Erie County
(Write “school supplies” on the memo line.)
